Oncology/Cancer Therapy

Receiving a cancer diagnosis for your beloved pet can understandably feel daunting. Please know that with our years of experience in treating pet cancer, we believe almost every pet can be helped to some degree. Whether through chemotherapy or palliative care, our aim is to help improve the quality of life for your pet.

Veterinary chemotherapy includes many of the same types of cancer treatments used in human medicine, such as surgery, chemotherapy drugs, and in some cases, radiation therapy. Sometimes, a treatment plan involves a combination of these approaches for the best possible outcome.

Our veterinarians work closely with pet owners to create a customized treatment plan for each patient. Our primary goal is to enhance your pet’s quality of life while minimizing any unpleasant side effects associated with treatment.

Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or would like to discuss how we can help your pet.

Oncology Services

How can we help?

Diagnosis

The kindest thing we can give you is a diagnosis

  • Cytology: Most cytology is performed in-house, and results are typically available on the day of examination
  • Biopsy
  • Further testing for characterization of certain cancers for best response to treatment

Surgery

A chance to cut is a chance to cure.

Oncologic surgeries may be paired with pre-operative, intra-operative, or post-operative chemotherapy tailored to your pet’s needs

Chemotherapy

We understand that a cancer diagnosis in your pet can be overwhelming — but you’re not alone. Our veterinary team offers safe, effective chemotherapy options tailored to your pet’s unique needs. Unlike in humans, most pets tolerate chemotherapy remarkably well, with minimal side effects and a strong focus on maintaining quality of life.

Whether used to slow cancer progression, relieve discomfort, or extend the time you have with your beloved companion, chemotherapy can be a valuable and humane part of your pet’s care plan. We’re here to guide you through every step — offering clear information, gentle support, and personalized treatment in a caring, low-stress environment.

Your pet’s comfort and well-being are always our top priorities.

Integrative Options

  • Stelfonta (injection for non-resectable mast cell tumors)
  • Torigen and Elias Immunotherapy Cancer Vaccine: adjunctive treatment created from your pet’s own tumor cells
  • Fidocure: DNA and RNA sequencing of your pet’s tumor to guide use of tumor gene inhibitor medications and provide prognostic information
